In TikTok Ads Manager, a custom audience can show the status Unavailable even when your scenario runs successfully.
TikTok sets an audience to Unavailable when it has not yet reached the minimum number of matched users on TikTok. TikTok requires at least 1,000 matched profiles before the audience becomes eligible for targeting.
What you see
- In Bloomreach, the Ad audience node shows a done count and successful campaign events.
- In TikTok Ads Manager, the audience shows Unavailable and may display a note such as Audience too small with the current matched size.
For example, you can send several thousand profiles from Bloomreach, but if TikTok matches only 41, the audience remains Unavailable until the matched count increases.
Why this happens
An audience usually stays Unavailable for one or more of these reasons:
- The audience has fewer than 1,000 matched TikTok users.
- TikTok can match only a small share of your customers because they use different identifiers or lack TikTok accounts.
- Some identifiers are invalid, incomplete, or not linked to active TikTok accounts.
What you can do
- Confirm that your scenario runs and that the Ad audience node shows a non-zero done count with no errors.
- Open a few customer profiles and check that TikTok campaign events for adding customers to the audience are successful.
- Wait 24–48 hours after sending or updating the audience, because TikTok can take this long to refresh the audience size in Ads Manager.
- Make sure your scenario sends to enough eligible customers, so TikTok has a chance to reach 1,000 matched users.
- Use more than one identifier (for example, email and phone) to improve the chance that TikTok can match your customers
