If you see an error while copying nodes between scenarios, you likely have a temporary version mismatch. This happens when two scenarios run on different app versions during a platform update.
Why this happens
Occasionally, our engineers roll out a minor update of the Scenarios app. During a short transition period:
- One scenario can be on app version A,
- Another scenario can still be on app version B.
Copy‑pasting nodes between scenarios is only allowed when both scenarios are on the same app version. While the rollout is in progress and your two scenarios are on different versions, you may see an “incompatible app versions” error, and copy‑paste will fail.
As soon as the rollout finishes and both scenarios run on the same version again, copy‑paste starts working without you having to change anything.
What the error looks like
You will see an error message in the UI when attempting to paste a node into a target scenario that does not match the source version:
Note:- The exact version numbers in the error will vary depending on the versions currently running on your scenarios.
Resolution steps
Follow these quick steps before contacting Support:
-
Wait and retry (5–15 minutes)
Wait 5–15 minutes for both scenarios to move to the same app version.
Then try the copy‑paste again. This resolves the issue in most cases.
-
Reload scenarios and use keyboard shortcuts
Save both scenarios.
Close all scenario tabs and reopen both scenarios from the project.
Copy with Ctrl/Cmd + C and paste with Ctrl/Cmd + V (instead of right‑click).
- Browser troubleshooting
Clear your browser cache and cookies.
Try using incognito/private mode.
Temporarily turn off extensions (ad blockers, firewalls, antivirus, and more).
Temporarily disable your VPN.
Update your browser to the latest version.
Try a different browser.
Try a different device.
Contacting Support
If the error persists for more than 30 minutes after following the steps above, contact Support.
Provide the following details:
Links to both the source and target Scenarios.
Names/Number of the specific nodes you want to copy.
The exact time you attempted the copy-paste.
The full text of the error message.
If the problem persists, Support may also ask you to provide a HAR file captured while reproducing the issue. You can follow the steps in our guide: How to Generate a HAR File.
If you do not see an app‑version error, but copy & paste does nothing or fails silently, see:
