The platform does not currently provide a centralized view that shows where a customer attribute or event is used.
As a workaround, you can export definitions as JSON and search the exported files for the relevant customer attribute or event name.
Export definitions and search the JSON
Go to the Data manager.
Click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner.
Select Definition Export & Import.
Select and export the relevant definitions.
Open the exported JSON.
Use
Ctrl + Fto search for the customer attribute or event name.
The export returns the selected definitions in JSON format and may include their dependencies.
❗You need the Project Admin role to perform a Definition Export & Import export. This is currently the lowest role that allows this action. For more information about roles and permissions, see Role-based access management.
Example
Let's say we have an aggregate called Last campaign campaign_id
Once you follow all the steps, you should be able to see all the relevant information, such as the ID, the name of the definition, and what is used there:
What you can search for
A customer attribute
An event
An event attribute
A referenced definition, such as an aggregate, expression, or event segmentation
The internal ID and name of a definition
Important limitations
Keep the following limitations in mind:
The search only covers the definitions included in the export and any dependencies included with them. It is not a platform-wide dependency report.
You may need to export different groups of definitions separately, especially in a large project.
If the export includes definitions you cannot access, or if a required dependency is missing, the result may be incomplete.
The Definition Export & Import function exports project definitions and related configuration in JSON; it does not export customer profiles or event data.
