There are occasions when it becomes necessary to remove customers from a project. It may occur due to changes in project scope, customer requests, or administrative decisions, and you may be looking for a way to automatically delete customers from projects.
Is there a way to initiate automatic deletion?
Currently, Bloomreach doesn't support automatic deletion of customer profiles. It means:
The system doesn't provide an option to schedule, trigger, or automate the removal of customer profiles on an ongoing basis.
There is no API available to automatically delete customers.
All deletion actions must be initiated manually by a user with admin access.
Alternative
If you need to delete specific customers from the project, we would recommend that you take an alternative approach.
Filter Customers in the Customers Section. You can create a segmentation with conditions targeting all customers you want to delete and use this segmentation periodically to filter out customers.
After filtering, click the three dots ⋯ in the upper right corner and click 'Delete customers'.
The system will prompt you to confirm the deletion, and once you do this, the filtered customers will be deleted.
This procedure can also be performed without segmentation; however, segmentation helps save time when you need to make frequent deletions in your project.
Important Notes
Deleted customers can't be restored — the deletion is permanent.
Deletions may take some time to process, depending on the number of customers.
Please make sure that you export customer data beforehand if you need a backup.
